Don’t be afraid of reflection - your path to purpose
In my previous blogs I’ve talked about how you can make room in your head and your working day to say yes to more of what you love. I’ve talked about how consistency and focus will help you achieve your goals and keep you on your path to purpose.
Today, I'd like you to reflect… and ask yourself ‘if I slowed down and reflected on what has worked in the past, would it actually make me go further than if I just carried on?’
Reflection of either yourself or your business is an important part of ensuring you are on your path to purpose. I had a running coach that would tell me to slow down. Why would I do that! I need to run to get to where I need to go. BUT… I noticed that every time I took a step back and slowed down, I got clarity, I got help and progress felt like it came quicker, easier and more sustainably afterwards. Who would have thought that would happen!
Sometimes you have to look back to move forward
What does reflecting look like for you? Is it thinking about all the things that haven’t worked? Perhaps you want to write a list of everything that you wanted to achieve this year but haven’t. For me it means carving out time to just think and breathe.
What does reflection time look like?
Clearing my calendar and leaving empty space and time to think
Throwing things out and whittling down so there is less busyness around me
Clearing out my emails so I’m focussed on the present
Breathing slower
Talking slower
Moving my body every day, even just a walk around the garden.
Try it. It’s life changing. Slow down, reflect and breathe and you just might find you actually speed up.
Much love, Denise x
